Federal Way sound transit mural
Printed Vinyl Mural
Designed by Lauren Iida
Commissioned by Sound Transit
120 feet long (12 panels)
Temporarily Installed 2020-2023
Redmond Sound Transit commissioned 12 panels in cut paper for fabrication in vinyl, 120 feet long for temporary installation around the construction site of the new Federal Way Sound Transit Station. Imagery is inspired by the multi-cultural community in Federal Way and the artist sourced much of her inspiration from local immigrant and refugee families, the incarceration and resilience of her Japanese American ancestors, and her ongoing traveling paper-cut installation, the “Memory Net.”
